The Communications Coordinator will support the Marketing Manager in executing internal and external communication strategies that align with ABNB Federal Credit Union and ABNB Community Foundation’s missions and brands. This role involves creating compelling content, managing communication channels, and ensuring consistent messaging across departments and member-facing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

ABNB FCU & ABNB Community Foundation External Communications

  • Write, edit, and deploy content for member and brand communications, including online banking, emails, informational materials, event activations, and website updates.
  • Assist in managing social media accounts and content calendars.
  • Draft press releases and community newsletters in coordination with partner outlets as needed.
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to produce multimedia content.
  • Ensure all external messaging aligns with ABNB’s voice and values.
  • Ensure all activities and materials follow State and Federal regulations.

ABNB FCU Internal Communications

  • Ensure consistent and timely messaging across departments and business lines.
  • Develop and distribute internal newsletters, announcements, and updates.
  • Maintain intranet content and internal communication tools.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and internal campaigns.
  • Track and evaluate internal communication effectiveness through feedback and analytics.
  • Ensure all activities and materials follow State and Federal regulations.

Content Strategy and Copywriting

  • Create clear, engaging, and brand-aligned content for various audiences.
  • Proofread and edit organic and vendor-generated materials for grammar, tone, and consistency.
  • Deploy marketing campaigns with strong copywriting and storytelling.
  • Maintain a comprehensive content calendar and ensure timely delivery of communication materials.
  • Ensure all activities and materials follow State and Federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). A degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or equivalent is highly desired.
  • Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Experience in communications, marketing, and/or public relations is required. Ideal candidate will demonstrate strong writing skills, attention to detail, and experience managing multi-faceted communications channels.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Other Skills: An ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in email marketing platforms, CRM systems, digital marketing, inter/intranet tools, social media platforms, and brand copywriting/editing. Retail merchandising and visual communication strategy experience is highly desired as well as client focused communication in business to business environments. Work involves presentations, problem solving, conflict resolution, relationship building, and soliciting cooperation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments, contributing to the planning, execution, and review of strategies. Familiarity with brand voice development, basic graphic design, and/or video editing. A high level of organizational and project management skills, excellent public speaking and communication, and the ability to execute community marketing strategies that align with overall marketing objectives. Experience with social media and digital communication platforms. Must be able to operate a PC and related office equipment and software to include Microsoft Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to travel between multiple locations for events.
  • Physical Requirements: Physical qualifications include sitting at a computer/workstation for extended periods of time while wearing a headset to communicate with members telephonically. Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Environment: In Office and Limited Remote - Will be required to work evenings and weekends to support community involvement and fundraising efforts. Will be required to travel between locations and events.
