Job Description

Role Qualifications: The estimator will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to estimate the money, materials, labor and time that a project requires, in addition to its associated overhead expenses. Make recommendations for how project managers can reduce costs. The estimator also maintains detailed records of both the estimated and actual costs throughout the entire project life cycle.

 
Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform effectively in each of these areas:

• Define scope of project
• Determine what information is necessary
• Contact suppliers and estimate costs
• Analyze and review bids
• Send estimates to customers
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors
• Communicate with trade partners about cost estimates and projected actual costs of projects

Qualification/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High school diploma required, higher education or certificate preferred. 
• Demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy and verbal directions.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing the company.
• Must be punctual and display good attendance and be able to work at least 40 hours per week, in addition, be available to work overtime when necessary.
• Knowledge of general computer skills essential including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
• Basic math skills required. 
• Experience in the steel industry preferred
  
   

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

• This position requires sitting, squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp, push, reach overhead and outward frequently.

Salary:

• $30.00 - $40.00 per hour DEO
